Are you considering trying CBD products but unsure what the difference between CBD and THC is?

We don’t blame you for being a little confused. When you first start looking into CBD, you are entering a new world full of strange new terms and names that are unfamiliar. The entire process can be a little bit intimidating, but the good news is that it won’t take you long to get caught up on what the difference between CBD and THC is and where they come from.
Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of two main cannabinoids found in both marijuana and hemp plants. There are over 100 different cannabinoids that can be found in varying levels in both plants. CBD has no psychoactive properties, unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is responsible for the ‘euphoric high’ that you experience when you consume or use marijuana products.

HEMP
While hemp and marijuana plants look and smell remarkably similar, they both have unique properties. Marijuana is high in THC and low in CBD. Hemp plants are high in CBD but contain less than 0.3% THC. Almost all CBD products contain CBD, which has been sourced from hemp plants.

CBD
Most people that use CBD products have reported that the effects make them feel calm or relaxed. The World Health Organization has stated that CBD if used correctly, is ‘generally well tolerated with a good safety profile.’

THC
THC, on the other hand, has several negative side-effects. When you consume THC, you’ll feel slightly intoxicated or high. How high you get depends on how much THC you consume, how you consume it, and the strength of the marijuana product. Some of the side-effects of THC include anxiety, nausea, paranoia, and vomiting. However, not all users experience these side-effects, and, in most cases, they are only mild and short-lived.
It’s important to start off slowly with both CBD and THC until you have established how you will react. Over time, you can gradually increase how much you consume of each cannabinoid and how frequently.
